Vacancy:  Assistant Centre Manager

£18,000 – 24,000 per annum - dependent on experience

For a bright, enthusiastic and hard working paddler, this is a great opportunity to join our team as a permanent staff member. This is a full time, 5 day a week contract - however due to the seasonal nature of the business you will work more days in the summer period and less over the winter months.

This is one role which combines responsibility for 2 key areas.

1.     Assistant Centre Manager.

You will work alongside a manager, coaches and deck crew to ensure the professional day to day running of the whole centre. This includes overseeing the below areas:

  1. Paddlesport program and all coaches/ deck crew. Handling customer enquiries in an efficient and professional manner whether by phone, email or in person.
  2. Public boat hire set up, (row boats, pedalos, canoes, kayaks and sups); issuing customer tickets and equipment, supervising younger deck staff, and managing cash up procedures.
  3. Assisting in paddlesport retail shop when necessary, serving customers and handling enquiries;
  4. Ensuring ice cream shop is stocked and running smoothly;
  5. Ensuring business is kept, clean, tidy, and operating in a safe and professional manner.

 

2.     Planning and Delivering a Paddlesport Program.

 

  1. As a senior paddlesport coach you will help plan, schedule and deliver a wide range of sessions across different disciplines (Canoe, Kayak, SUP). We offer a large programme of courses and sessions which include school groups, children's paddlepower scheme, birthday parties, qualification courses and training, and some weekend trips away.

The ideal candidate would be someone that's hard-working, friendly and willing to get stuck in! You will need to be confident with both customers and staff, and have a professional approach to work.

Essential Qualities:

 

-       Enthusiasm towards paddlesport

-       UKCC Level 2 Coach or working towards this level

-       First class telephone manner and interpersonal skills

-       Customer service experience

-       Good level of computer literacy and numeracy, able to work with XL, gmail, invoice software, website updates etc

-       Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure at peak times

-       Hold a mature and responsible attitude to work

-       Non-smoker

Desirable Qualities:

-       Evidence of success in a previous supervisory or leadership role

-       Any 4 star qualifications - whitewater, open canoe or sea

-       Degree or similar

-       Practical maintenance skills, any mechanical, electrical or carpentry experience

-       Full driving licence & own transport

-       Coach Educator Quals

Vacancy:  Seasonal Paddlesport Coach

£17,000 – 20,000 per annum – pro rata dependent on experience

For a bright, enthusiastic and hard working paddler, this is a great opportunity to join our team on a full time seasonal contract running from 1st March – 30th October. You will be required to work flexibly with a minimum of alternate weekends and some evenings. For an ambitious and hard-working candidate there may be the opportunity to increase to a permanent post in the future.

As a paddlesport coach you will be a role model for the part time coaching staff and take an active role in their development. You will take a leading role in the planning and delivery of a wide range of sessions across different disciplines (Canoe, Kayak, SUP). We deliver a large programme of courses and sessions which include school groups, children's paddlepower scheme, qualification courses and training, birthday parties and adult weekends away.

As part of your role you will work alongside the management team and deck crew to make sure the day to day running of the centre is looked after. This includes ensuring the boat hire operation runs smoothly and safely, customer enquiries are dealt with quickly and professionally and to keep the business clean, tidy and presentable. The role is a physical job and you will need to be fit and strong. 

The ideal candidate would be someone that's hard-working, friendly and willing to get stuck in! You will need to be confident with both customers and staff, and have a professional approach to work.

Essential Qualities:

 

Enthusiasm towards paddlesport

UKCC Level 1 Coach, ideally Level 2 or working towards this level

First class telephone manner and interpersonal skills

Customer service experience – centre experience

Good level of computer literacy and numeracy

Able to work under own initiative and within a team

Reliable,
organised, and able to work under pressure

Hold a mature and responsible attitude to work

Non-smoker

 

Desirable Qualities:

Evidence of success in a previous supervisory or leadership role

Practical maintenance skills, any mechanical, electrical or carpentry experience

4 Star Awards – whitewater, open canoe or sea

Full driving licence & own transport

Dragon Boating Helms


Warwick Boats and Leam Boat Centre are looking for enthusiastic individuals to train as Dragon Boat Helms for our corporate, youth group, and charity dragon boat events.


Full training provided with paid part time and session work from April to October

Good with people and able to work confidently with public groups - not afraid to speak up!

Physically fit and a sound swimmer

Reliable and trustworthy
